I, Connor Carney, AM the guy who runs this site, Running with Rocks and Paper. I also run the sites RunningInCircles.com and A Political Snapshot. I've written lots of opinion columns and the beginning of a serial story.

I'm a transplant from Louisiana attending school at
Chaffey College in Rancho CucAMonga, CA. I'm a Christian, as well as a self-proclaimed liberal, although I see myself as much more moderate than most conservatives would believe.

A while back, I posted articles on a site called subDimension.com. When they shut down (and were subsequently replaced with an ad-farm site), my articles disappeared off of the internet completely. At the time, NAMeZero.com was offering free dot-com nAMes, so I snapped up RunningInCircles.com and republished what I had written.

Eventually, I noticed something: A lot fewer people were reading what I wrote when it was published on my own web site rather than a community one. So I did something crazy: I started letting anybody who wanted to write and publish on RunningInCircles.com. Sure enough, more people started reading my writings when there was other people's stuff sitting next to it.

A while later, I noticed something else: with readers comes responsibility. I'd kind of gotten used to having a site that nobody read, so I was surprised when I started getting emails from people frustrated or upset because I'd made mistakes or oversights (or, God forbid, typographical errors). So I started another web site. This new site doesn't care about readers. This new site can be reckless -- less thoroughly researched, interspersed with personal musings, and above all, written entirely by me. I called this site "Running with Rocks and Paper". You'll have to guess why.

Most Recently, following the election, I had another idea. This is a more practical one -- not about people being persuasive and argumentative, or even having a dialogue, but just telling others what they believe and why. A sort of national voter guide -- a snapshot of American politics. I called this site A Political Snapshot.

Enjoy reading everything I have to say. Comment if you have something to add. Email or iChat me if you want a conversation. I'm always open to a convincing argument, so if your ideas hold up, you just might convince me.
